Austin. Pt. 2

Well, the plane in Raleigh took off an hour late, so I had to run to the atl monorail, and then run to the gate. Good times. I'm fairly certain that I was sitting next to a duke football player. He was GIANT and didn't fit in his sit. He was also the strong and silent type so I spent 2 hours of my life in dead silence. I also learned that I appreciate traveling with my husband a lot more than I realized. He lets me hog his personal space as well as my own allotted space on an airplane. I also realized that I was not made to be alone... I have a whole lot of words to get out of my head and I am definitely not meeting my word quota for the day. It's going to be a long conversation with b tonight! Sorry hubby!

I am also about 98% certain there is some sort of sister wife situation happening next to me at the gate waiting area.

I am also trying to decide if it will be a sad day or a happy day when 16 year old boys stop checking me out. (another reason I miss my hubby. He fends them off! ;) I did my hair and make up and have a cute mom outfit on from loft... Not hollister! Do they not notice the ring and the grey hair?!?! Maybe I'm just such a hottie that those things get overlooked! Ha! I think 16 year olds just are a raging hormone fest.

Planes should also be one fragrance free places. If someone wants to wear perfume they should dab it right under their nose so that others don't have to smell it. That's about it for now! I'll leave you with my proof that I look like a cute mom today!

Austin. Pt 1.

So, I'm flying to Austin alone today. My dear sweet husband is keeping the kiddos entertained all weekend. This is the weirdest feeling ever! I don't have to change anyone's diaper, I get to sleep for two whole nights in a row without making a bottle, and I'm already missing them terribly! We haven't even taken off yet!

There's already some funny stories though. On our way to the airport we got off at the airport exit and then kept driving down the road an suddenly found ourselves on a lake and the airport was way behind us! I'm still not sure where we missed the turn, but I made it in on time.

And then as I handed the TSA agent my boarding pass and id he asked me if "I was old enough to have that ring on my finger?" and "if my daddy knew about it?" ha! I love the south. (and 5 years after my wedding I'm still getting grief about it!

Vaccinate

I don't generally use this as a forum to advocate, but I am really pro-vaccines. I am very sure that because she had had two rounds of dTap her pertussis was way less bad than or would have been. Please vaccinate your kids. It helps keep everybody safe!

Micahism

So, we are working on putting words with our feelings and Micah isn't quite there yet. These are a few gems:

"My nose is nervous!"

After finding a game on the iPad for him: "you found this for me?! That makes me so proud!"

When asking him to go to bed: "that makes me shy, mama."
