Good News Bad News

we decided to cancel our cable to save some $$ and when b called to cancel it we found out we are under contract until April. boo! it would cost us more in cancelation fees than it would to just pay our bill for the next few months. The customer service rep was able to cut our bill down about 30% though! thanks direct tv!

random thoughts on life

me: micah, how old are you?
micah: green light means go!
me: right answer, wrong trick.

you know you're PMSing when spinach dip and m&ms sound like a perfectly delicious lunch.

i have a laundry list of obsessions right now: tap shoes and waldorf dolls are at the top.

and there's a peak into my crazy brain!

Time? What's That?

We've been busy here in Lindsayland. Dance started again last week, and this week we are trying to get back into the swing of things. Both of the guys in my life have had GI issues this week, so we visited our BFF's (Micah's doctors) for the umpteenth time this month. After teaching 7 classes today I decided to take a technique class... barefoot. Worst idea I've had in awhile. It was a fabulous class, but I definitely needed some shoes for it!

Wishlist Wednesday!

I am definitely getting ready for fall. I could use a break from this crazy heat! Because I am such a wimp fragile flower I have found I few things that I think are going to be necessary to make it through the rainy, cold, and sometimes snowy north carolina winter.

1. Pink Hunter Boots
These are a necessity because it rains alot and I obviously don't want my Sperry's to get ruined. I name my sperry's out specifically because they are the only closed toe shoes I own... I am still convinced I can live in my rainbows like I did in CA.

2. A North Face Jacket.
It gets cold and these are still acceptably stylish.

3. A knit necklace.
I am fairly certain I can make this with my newly re-discovered nifty knitter loom thing. The flower may need to be purchased... or I could make a fabric flower. We shall see...

4. Signature Tap Shoes.
This item is so elusive there are no google images of it. There is no online store that you can buy them from either. Trust me, I've googled it. They are just stinkin' awesome tap shoes and since I am teaching 7ish tap classes I would like some awesome tap shoes. (And I would also like to throw out there that one of my tap dances got picked as best dance of the recital! I am pretty stoked. Winning that was my ENTIRE goal in life last year. The competition is fierce too, all of the other teachers are REALLY good choreographers and have been doing this for more years than I have.)

last time

i didn't know that micah's last night in his crib would be Sunday night. After the climbing adventure yesterday morning Brian took it upon himself to take a side off of m's crib and convert it to a toddler day bed while I was at work. I came home to my big two year old sleeping in a BED! craziness! i can't believe how fast he is growing up. gosh i love that boy!
The crib now looks like a daybed which is not quite the look I'm going for in his room and so I plan on building him a toddler bed from knock off wood. I just can't believe he's not in a crib anymore! big boy...

Dear Target

Dear Target,

I do realize that you have become like a second home to me but I currently have a few grievances that I need to share with you.

1. the discontinuing of method products in your store has me thoroughly distraught. your free and clear soap is literally the first soap i have ever been able to use in my entire 23 years of existance that doesn't give me hives and cause my knuckles to crack open and bleed. Also, the method baby wash is the most amazing baby wash on the planet and doesn't cause any kind of reaction on my son or myself. i can no longer find it anywhere and that makes me sad and micah stinky.

2. the popcorn icee combo listed on the menu at the snack bar is priced at $1.50. if i specify that i want an icee instead of a soda i get charged .40 more! the only difference is the lid! i will be saving that .40 from now on and just ordering a popcorn and drink combo.

3. the lack of size 5 diapers is also really annoying. somebody needs to be doing a better job of order writing because it's getting a little ridiculous. i can't use another brand because they don't fit micah well and can't contain the river that flows when he sleeps.

please consider yourself warned.
Love,
Lindsay

break time?

b is camping with our church youth and i miss him! micah is at his finest (bloody ear, displaced ear tube, spitting, screaming and running!) and i have been fortunate enough to speak with his pediatrican, ENT, and audiologist last night. I am beat and could use a break! come home b! i miss you!
and because the post needs a little cheese, i present some colbie caillat song lyrics!
I miss those blue eyes
How you kissed me at night
I miss the way we sleep
Like there's no sunrise
Like the taste of your smile
I miss the way we breathe.

aaaaaw. :)

$1.65

$1.65 buys me 20 minutes of shopping peace. Aaah.

Micah has become a standard, run of the mill, holy terror of a two year old and everyday tasks have become a workout! He takes off running at any chance he gets (fortunately the whole dance studio knows the kid and there is bound to be a dance mom shopping in target to stop him... Thanks R!) He also has taken to screaming his requests instead of speaking them which is awesome especially when there are sleeping babies nearby at the dance studio.

Today we ran into target to get trashbags amd as soon as we pulled into the parking lot micah began his request for, "POCORN ICEEEEE!" and so in my hope for 5 seconds of peace I obliged.

Big Fat Fail. He took off running twice and and screamed whenever we walked by something that he wanted. He also wanted to help push the cart, not next to me holdingthe side, but by the handle that i use to push the cart. While I was holding him though, in between screaming and fighting for the handle, he would be so cute and say "kiss mama!" and kiss my cheek. Gah! The kid knows how to melt my heart...

Wishing. Hoping. Thinking. Praying.

Planning and dreaming...
We have a lot of stuff to be hoping and praying for lately. Brian and his job search and where that could take us, Micah and his ongoing ear issues, patience for me when dealing with a crazy two year old, and being at peace with all of this unknown in our future.
:)
