day 2
We are on day 2 of this week and bubba has already mastered climbing up stairs, escaping shopping carts, learning to shake his head "no" and say "da da da!"

I emailed the local (3.2 miles from my house) gymnastics school to see if they need a cheer coach. That's how I got my dance job that I love and so I figured I'd try it again! They have a competitive cheer squad for kids ages 3-12. Please pray that if this is something I need to be doing that everything will fall in to place!
ugh.
My ear has been draining non-stop since saturday. Yuck! I still feel just all around yucky too. I am trying to figure out what I want to go back to school for. And I am exhausted! Which is so weird because I took a four hour nap yesterday! I am babysitting now and glad it's a short day!

update
I have two ear infections. my right eardrum ruptured from the pressure of the fluid in my middle ear. I also still have a cold. yuck! I am really hoping B would like Pei Wei for dinner tonight. Mostly because I haven't had a real meal in, like, 3 days and that sounds good.

why are we still sick?!
So, I feel like I have the never-ending sickness curse upon me. It all started Friday February 13th. Brian stayed home sick that day. The next weekend Micah came down with a wheezing cough and snotty nose. The next week I got a kidney infection, ear infection and respiratory virus. Aka a cold. Then brian came home from midnight bowling sick sick sick! I caught it too and my kidney started to hurt again on Monday. The status today for each of us is as follows:
Brian: hacking cough, green nose, no fever
Micah: runny nose, cough, no fever.
Lindsay: green nose, sore throat, fever.
And are we all still at work?
You betcha!
Why?
We like to be able to afford electricity and stuff.
I am so looking forward to Saturday. Only 6 hours of nannying, and 7hours of dance teaching to go!

gah! This sucks! just when we thought we were in the clear the entire Wood household came down with a nasty cold. Fevers all around, snotty noses and coughs.

I have the best husband ever! I mentioned to B this morning that I put his xbox on craigslist because he never uses it anymore and he said, "ok." I sold it and the guy was coming to pick it up at 7:30pm. I left for bible study at about 6:30 and forget to mention this minor detail. B totally rolled with it when the guy showed up and even threw in a game for him! I came home from bible study to find Micah already asleep and

how micah spends his days
Micah has occupied himself for the last 30 minutes by standing at the foot of the stairs. Looks like it's time for the baby gates!
a peek into my thoughts.
It's been a good, but interesting weekend. Our friends, mike and emily, became an aunt and uncle this weekend! Very early Sunday morning mike's twin brother and his wife gave birth to Haley camp. She was 4 days over due! I forgot how tiny newborns are! It was a weird experience for me to go back to that hospital. The last time we were there was when we took Micah home! Brian and I definitely had some anxiety about going back there. She had such a different pregnancy and birth experience than I did. I was very happy for her, but kind of sad and jealous for me too. Because Micah was my first baby I had no idea what to expect. I think this made being seperated from him easier. Erin had her baby with her in her hospital room, and no iv in her when I went to visit her just 8 hours after birth. She had showered and was up and moving already too! I didn't realize that was normal. I kept saying, "you get to keep her here? With you?" this was definitely a striking contrast between my experience and hers. At the time I didn't realize how bad micah's birth really was. It was hard on all of us. I'm not saying this to be mopey about it, but since we don't hve to cope with it anymore I have time to process it all a little more . I just feel a little bit like I got robbed of my baby time a little bit. He spent the first 6 weeks in the nicu and his birthday is 2 months earlier than it should be or could have been. I know these feelings are coming to the surface because we are quickly approaching micah's first birthday. So, I have been thinking a lot lately. I didn't intend for this to take such a depressing turn, but this subject has been on my mind a lot lately. Not in the sad way that this sounds like, but in a "huh. Something to think about." kind of way

Scones!
Emily and I made scones on monday night and they were delicious!! Here is the recipe in case you are inerested!
INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, frozen
- 1/2 cup raisins (or dried currants)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 large egg
DIRECTIONS
- Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Grate butter into flour mixture on the large holes of a box grater; use your fingers to work in butter (mixture should resemble coarse meal), then stir in raisins.
- In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg until smooth.
- Using a fork, stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to press the dough against the bowl into a ball. (The dough will be sticky in places, and there may not seem to be enough liquid at first, but as you press, the dough will come together.)
- Place on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7- to 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tsp. of sugar. Use a sharp knife to cut into 8 triangles; place on a cookie sheet (preferably lined with parchment paper), about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 15 to 17 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature.

- Follow the recipe for Simple Scones, adding 1/2 tsp. almond extract to the sour cream mixture and substituting dried cherries for the raisins.We made the lemon blueberry ones, and they were so good!

dr sent me to hospital
I am currently in the er. I went to the doctors and they sent me here. I had a ct scan, blood drawn, and urinalysis. Waiting on test results...
moron.
I have a kidney infection and was told to call them in a few days if i wasn't better. My kidney hurts worse 3 days (and antibiotics) later. I called today and the dumba$$ receptionist told me to finish my antibiotics and then call them back in 7 days.
Uhh, that's not what your boss, THE DR, told me to do.
moron.
I have an appt at 12:30. Should be so fun to see that lady in person. ugh!
Here's what i have been up to lately.
