16 & Pregnant
This cheese-tastic MTV docu-drama is narrated in MTV's super-serious fashion. It follows a different pregnant 16 year old each week. Their horrible life choices/ their parents' horrible life choices have landed them in this predicament.
(stick with me. This post gets good.)
The first time I watched the show Brian informed me he was not going to watch this. and proceeded to go upstairs and play video games. He's cool like that.
Tonight we were making toffe for his company picnic tomorrow and I turned this show on again for the season finale. Caitlynn had a crazy home life. She began dating Tyler when they were in 7th grade. Fast forward 4 years and Caitlynn's mom and Tyler's dad are married, and Caitlynn is pregnant. She and Tyler decide to give the baby up for adoption WITHOUT the support of their parents. :(
The adoptive parents bought Caitlynn a bracelet that said "Always in my heart." The adoptive mother had a matching one and they also got the baby girl one too.
I look over at my rock of a husband to see him with tears streaming down his face. He said it was like watching what could have happened between his parents and his birth mother.
aaaw.

Wishlist Wednesday
Lindsay's TV Guide.
Brian has started back at school and so I am home 3 nights a week with M-dawg. The house was getting too quiet for me and so I got into a few TV shows. I will review them for you here:

This is a really great family-friendly show about the Duggar family. They have 18 kids and are super conservative Christians. It's about their daily life; homeschooling, meal preparation, shopping, chores. They do funny things like box sliding down the hills of their huge estate in AK with their Dad's old campaign signs. Sweet and fun. I also really like that Michelle is always kind. SHe doen't ever seem to get upset and she like her husband. Again, so refreshing from the Husband bashing.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager
This show is about 16 year old Amy whom *surprise* gets pregnant with the bad boy drummer's baby. While pregnant, her parents also split and dad buys the house next door. (Where have I heard of that happening before? :) She is figuring out life with her baby, family, and friends. Made by the same producer as 7th Heaven and so it's very cheeseball at times, and I love it.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Who would have thought that I would be fascinated by Jersey Girls?! Typically known for their trash-tastic nature New Jersey has never been appealing to me. This show has changed that for me. Thank you Bravo! RHofNJ is a "reality based" show that follows around five VERY rich women in New Jersey. They are funny and fun and seem to understand that they rich and abnormal... that most people don't/can't live like they do. They seem to really love their kids and they dote on their husbands! Such a nice break from the husband bashing that is so common T.V.

NYC Prep

The tale of rich NYC prep school kids is obnoxious at times, and I do find myself wanting to smack their little privileged faces, but I restrain myself. They are ridiculous in every sense of the word. My new pet peeve is when TV networks portray High Schoolers acting like adults. It's ridiculous. Like in High School Musical 3 when zach and vanessa act like they are married when making decisions. I think it's weird! Anyway, I find myself hooked and tuning in to see the "real"-ish conversations between the privileged. It's filling the gossip girl sized void in my life.

A new ABC family show about competitive gymnasts. It reminds me of the movie Stick It. I like that the teenagers are a little more real. They aren't trying to behave like adults. They are 16 yeear old kidstrying to figure out how to balance school, the gym, relationships with friends/family/boys, and how to grow up at the same time.
Brian and I also found a few shows that we both can tolerate:
Burn Notice

This show is about a spy that has been excommunicated and his adventures and misadventures in trying to get back in to the spy business. It reminds me of when I used to watch another TNT spy show with my brother Rob. It was just about the only show we could agree on watching when we were 10 and 8. haha.
Royal Pains

Such a fun show! It's about a doctor and his goofy CPA brother. The doctor gets fired from his hospital because he treated a reallysick boy before he treated a wealthy donor. The brother decides to cheer him up by taking him on a vacation to the Hamptons. A serious of funny events occur and he becomes a "Concierge Doctor" to the very rich. Cute and funny!

Cosmic Birth Control.
I have this crazy belief that if I give Micah's baby stuff away/craigslist it that I will get pregnant again. I know it's nuts, but still!
MckMama thinks it's true too.
It's like cosmic birth control. This is why Micah's room and the garage look like a baby stuff graveyard. :)
Well, this and I can not imagine having to buy all of that stuff again!

Embarassing, but whatever!
I told brian that if he let's me dress up Parker and mason it will be just like we had two more babies!
He rolled his eyes.
(but he didn't say no! Haha)
